Chester Land Trust (CLT) is pleased to announce receipt of a $9,500 grant from the CFMC for its proposal to make adaptive changes to the Rayner Preserve. These changes will 1) permit safe public access to the Preserve 2) allow for parking on-site 3) improve stormwater handling and 4) build resilience to climate change.
Rayner Preserve (121 West Main Street) is a 3-acre CLT property that has a 650-foot section of Pattaconk Brook running through it. This section of the brook is just downstream from the waterfall at the Brushmill Restaurant (129 West Main Street).
CLT’s grant proposal was fully funded through CFMC’s Mary Janvrin and Natalie Janvrin Wiggins Fund for Birds, Other Animals and Nature competitive grant process. CLT is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect irreplaceable open space so that anyone can enjoy our natural resources.
